July:)

July is almost over which means school is almost here. I'm really dreading that - we are in a bad sleeping habit here and I am not sure about this 5 days a week thing!!LOL We have pretty much ran on a 4 day week from day 1 so this is gonna be an adjustment! We started out the month with 4th of July celebrations which were a little disappointing this year since it is soooo dry. The boys and I went with some friends to the parade in Marlow. They have a big thing in the park also so that was fun - but really hot!! Gibson took his 1st steps this week!!! 3 of them to be exact! He also now has 2 teeth coming in on top and another one the bottom to make a grand total of 5:) Grayson officially graduated swimming lessons with a jump off the diving board with no lifejacket. He had his 1st sleepover at a friend's birthday party. He was so excited and now he keeps saying he wants his friends to sleep at our house for his birthday!!! Casey turned the big 3-0 this month also!!! We had a little party and all our great friends and some family came over to celebrate!

latest happenings

Well summer time is busy as always. We are in the pool(a lot!), Grayson goes to a summer camp at the Methodist church 2 days a week, we went on a mini vacation & we love getting to spend lots of time with our friends and family. Both boys are really loving the pool and Grayson has really become quite the fish!! He will do anything with his lifejacket on and is getting more brave everyday with it off. He is still taking swimming lessons and he really likes and trusts the girl that comes so that has helped him tremendously. We went to Fort Worth last week and stayed a couple of days. We did the zoo and went to a Rangers baseball game. Once it got going(about the 5th inning) Grayson really liked it but getting to that point was a little rough:) Grayson is so grown up - he loves to help with Gibson and mostly loves getting on to him when he gets into stuff he's not supposed to be:) He also loves to pick him up but he ususally gets hollered at by Gibson who is not such a fan of that! Gibson is almost 10 months old!!!! WHAT?!?! I know - it's crazy! I have already started planning his 1st birthday:( He was right on track with growth at his 9 mo check, and has hit all his milestones and then some. His favorite thing to do is play with the cords behind the chair and table in our living room. He can also get the outlet covers out of the outlets!! So we really have to watch him with that. He is at the stage where he is into everything! Still just has 2 teeth but he wants to eat table food!! He has basically decided he is done with baby food:) He is still very much a momma's boy but Mimi is a close 2nd. He has just recently started dancing - it's pretty cute. The were both in a minor car accident with the babysitter on the way home from the sno-cone stand. Grayson's version is pretty comical but he ends with "it was freakin' me out"! Everybody was fine, I think Chelsea(babysitter) was a lot more upset than the boys. Well I will leave you with pictures, as usual, it is sooooo hard to get both boys looking at the same time!!

SummerTime!!

Oh boy - summer is here! It is so nice to have slowed down some since Grayson is out of school. I can't imagine what it's gonna be like next year when he is in Pre-K ALL day, EVERY day with homework and everything!! Whew! Gibson is almost not a baby anymore:( He is crawling everywhere!!! He has 2 teeth(which I thought were never going to come in), waves bye, claps, pulls up on all the furniture, and says momma, bubba, and occasionally poppa!! He LOVES bathtime, he gets so excited when you take him to the bathroom and start and the water. He is mostly sleeping all night - he's about 50/50 - which honestly is so much than Grayson was at this age that I think it's spectacular!! LOL

Grayson is playing T-Ball and loves it! He does great at batting and lacks a little bit of attention while playing the field - he usually plays catcher and sometimes he lays down in the dirt:) He graduated from his preschool and will be going to Will Rogers to Pre-K next year. His teacher will be Mrs. Loafman, he has already met her a few times so he is ok with moving up! Grayson is doing much better with sleeping in his own bed - he pretty much sleeps all night in his own bed consistently - just a few slips here and there.

We have an inground pool at our new house so we are really enjoying that. A girl is coming over to give Grayson swim lessons, she started today and that didn't go so well. He is deathly terrified of the sinking! There isn't much shallow end, it pretty much starts getting deeper immediately so I think that scares him:( Hopefully that gets better - if not it's gonna be a long summer!!

Casey is still liking his job and although I miss my house in Norman terribly we still believe (more and more every day) that we made the right decision in moving back. It is so nice to be close friends and to Mimi and Poppa and Casey's brother and his family. Grayson loves spending time with his cousins. So that's it for us for now - no big summer plans but I'm sure we will stay busy!!

SPRING!

Yes - I have once again neglected this blog! I have a good excuse this time - we have been moving. But we are all moved in to our new house (with a pool as Grayson's description goes) in Duncan and we are almost settled! Thank goodness - we are all exhausted! Grayson is loving living close to his mimi and poppa and his cousins. Every time we leave the house to go somewhere he says "is Chance, Bryson, & Gracie gonna be there?" It's too funny. And all he has to do is call his Poppa and he comes right over and gets him!! Gibson is getting so big. He is sitting up and trying to get up on his hands/knees to crawl!! He loves his food and is not liking his formula anymore - we struggle to get enough in him each day - we may be switching to plain milk before too long! Still no teeth but he chews on everything. They have a new babysitter - Kayla - who comes to the house on Mon and Wed to keep them. Yeah for not having to get kids up and dressed and out the door!!!! Gib is so playful these days and loves to laugh at big brother. Poppa may have spoiled Grayson but Mimi has equally ruined Gib!!! We have to SING to him - yep, he's a Mimi's boy and I had to learn the words to Hush Little Baby(I think that's the name of it - you know - momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird, if that mockingbird don't sing....) So she no longer gets to say much about Poppa and Grayson!!! Gibson had his 6 month checkup last week and he is perfectly healthy and doing awesome.

Grayson wrestled this year. Casey was asked to be the coach at Horace Mann Elementary so we went ahead and let Grayson wrestle also. I'm pretty sure Casey was more excited about it than Grayson. He did OK for his 1st year - he knew all the moves just wasn't sure he wanted to do them in front of all those people! Now we move on to T-Ball which should be starting soon. He still wasn't old enough to play soccer and he really wanted to play so we'll have to wait until next fall to do that. Pre-K enrollment is this next week - so here we go - big boy school is starting already!!!!

Well I would love to say I will do better with updates(I will try) but make no promises. We are so glad warm weather is here and we will be spending lots of time outside - and in the POOL!!!!

Lots of New Stuff

We have a lot of new things going on right now. Let's start with the obvious - new toys from Christmas. Lots and lots of toys!! Christmas was really a lot of fun this year - Grayson was all about Santa Claus and opening all of his presents(and Gib's too). We were able to get together with everyone at Pa Bill's this year at the same time(last year was a blizzard - remember?!) And we had 2 new babies this year - Gibson and Sutton(Russ and Lacey's) so it was really great to get together with all of the great grandkids and Pa Bill loved it too!
Gibson gets to eat new food now. He had his 4 mo check up and everything was great. He has started eating rice cereal which he loves and just this week he started with carrots which was a big hit also. He really picked up fast on eating from a spoon and drinking from a sippee cup. He was 25 1/2"long and weighed 14lbs 6oz. Grayson also went for his 4 yr check up the same day. He passed all his earing/sight tests and kept the dr and the nurse cracking up - he is such not a shy kid!! They both got shots, I think Grayson cried more than Gib did which is unusual b/c normally they don't bother Grayson too bad but when we left he said "momma, I hate shots, let's not plan those anymore!" It was hilarious - he just kept telling me that the rest of the day. Gibson is rolling over and never wants to lay down anymore. He wants so badly to sit up or stand up.

And lastly the biggest new change is where we live. We are in the process of moving back to Duncan. Casey took a job at Halliburton and I am still working in Pauls Valley on mondays and wednesdays. We are trying to sell our house in Norman and meanwhile we are living with mom and dad. I'm pretty sure Grayson thinks he is in heaven. What with all the impromptu fishing trips and not to mention the cinnamon rolls from Grandma that show up periodically. It's not too bad. But a few more months of not having all my stuff and I might have a different opinion! We just decided we wanted to be closer to our families and we came to Duncan every weekend for something anyways and packing up and leaving home every weekend was getting old. Grayson is going to preschool at the Methodist Church and he really loves it. He also gets to play with his cousins every wednesday and he is really liking that too. He was still too young for Spring soccer so I guess he is going to wrestle. I'm not too sure he is ready for that but Casey seems to think he is so I guess we'll find out. It's been so long since I've updated this thing I'm sure I'm leaving something out but oh well - it must not be too important then.
