Oh where to begin!! Batman birthday was a success. Grayson had such a great time and it was a lot of fun. All the kids really loved the blowup obstacle course and mostly just running around and playing. Mom and I made the cake(mostly mom) it turned out great but as you all know me it was a major stress for me(not sure I'll be doing that again). I can't believe he is already 4!! I know every parent says that but holy cow - where did that 4 years go? He is such a great kid(most of the time!). He is a wild 4 year old boy though. I think going to prek at Gymboree has helped him. Gibson is 3 months old today!!! He is getting so big so fast. He is lifting his upper body off the floor on his tummy, reaching and grabbing for toys, big time smiles and started laughing this week. He likes for us to do patty cake(with our hands not his). He talks a lot too - you can just tell he is saying something - if only we knew what. We got our christmas stuff out this last weekend and now Grayson keeps asking if it's Christmas Day and he wants so badly to open these presents, he is pretty convinced that they are ALL his. LOL

Crazy Time of Year!!
Let the craziness begin!!! Birthdays and holidays are upon us - but I so look forward to this time of year and all the craziness it brings!! Gib had his 2 mo check of which he passed with flying colors, 11lbs 7oz 23inches long, in the 50-60th percentile in all categories. Doing everything he should be doing, he is so smiley these days, especially loves the grouping of pictures of him and Grayson on the wall behind sofa. Not sure what tickles his fancy about that but he can stare at those for 15 min and he will just giggle at them - it's very funny. He is starting to engage with toys, he gets very excited(as is evident by his arms and legs and their nonstop movement)! He is also making attempts at some rolling over movements, although he has been doing that for a while, he is getting better! Grayson's birthday is next week and his party is this saturday - Batman Birthday!!! He is so excited, everyday this week the first thing he asks in the morning
"Is today my Batman birthday?" Too cute - he is just so grown up these days and has thankfully been sleeping better - IN HIS OWN BED!! The only bad news I have to report is that Casey is also having gall bladder surgery next week. He had his 1st and only attack last Sunday and after testing his gall bladder is full of stones and his white blood cell count was high so the Dr wanted it out within a week to ten days - I know, right? Why now - oh well - this too shall pass!!!! Thank goodness for Mimi and Poppa and my friend Mindy who can help take care of the boys during all this craziness. I will post pics of Grayson's Batman birthday as soon as I can!!!! And now Grayson comes in asking for popcorn for breakfast?!!? Really! LOL

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!! Grayson had so much fun this year. Of course our favorite thing right now is Batman so of course that was the costume and he has been wanting to wear it ever since it came in. Finally the day arrived and he woke up and said "you kow what today is... it's trick-or-treat day!" And he wore his costume ALL DAY! and then got up this morning and put it back on!! We took him to the Boo Review downtown and then later on in the evening we went to a trunk-or-treat at my Grandma's church and then went to a few houses. I kept asking him if he was ready to quit and he kept saying he just needs more candy, I didn't think trick-or-treating was ever gonna end!!! Oh well, he had a lot of fun this year. Gibson on the other hand didn't much care, he slept in his stroller while we did the Boo Review and he stayed home with Great Grandma for the second round.
Gibson is growing so much - getting very big, his 2 month appt is next week so I'll update with that later. He has really started smiling a lot, too cute, and just today has really started "talking". I can't believe it's already been 8 weeks. I started back to work last week(just 2 days a week) so Grayson and Gibson both go to Nanny's on Monday and Wednesday. It worked out pretty good last week. I think Grayson was glad to see all his friends again and show off his little brother.
Grayson's birthday is just around the corner so we are trying to get everything ready for that and yep, you guessed it, Batman it is!!!

5 weeks and new school
Mr. Gibson is now 5 weeks old. He is getting quite the chunky cheeks and is a great baby. He only cries when he is hungry and is sleeping pretty well(sometimes better than Grayson). He is a little hard to burp, sometimes no burp at all, but it doesn't seem to affect him he is not spitting up too much, just occasionally. We haven't been back to the Dr since his 2 week check up but at that appointment he had already gained a pound and grown almost 2 inches. So he is catching up to be right on pace with the same size Grayson was. He started smiling some last week - too cute. Grayson is still a lot interested in him (too interested sometimes)! Still needs constant reminding to be easy with the kisses and not swing the sword too close to his head!!! We are on our second trip to Mimi and Poppa's house and he even got to camping for the 1st time last week!!
Grayson has started going to a preschool class at our local Gymboree on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They have a very structured day and learn lots of good school skills(letters, days of the week, weather, you get it!) He is really enjoying it. He did get in trouble last week for wrestling -we'll have to remind him that wrestling is only for at home with daddy! He is going to be Batman for Halloween and wants a Batman birthday party - so we are officially all off into the superheroes!!!!
I have 1 more week of maternity leave, I go back on the 18th. I will only be going back part time - mondays and wednesdays - so I am really looking forward to hopefully having the best of both worlds - stay at home mom and adult conversation at work! Gibson will be going to Nanny's with Grayson. I think they have missed Grayson not being there - it's probably a lot more quiet without him around!!!!

One Week Old
Gib is officially 1 week old today. Thank goodness for Mimi and Poppa(mostly Mimi) they have been here this week and I wish they could stay forever!!! Oh well, we'll figure it out - next week will be interesting though!!! Gibson is still such a great, relaxed baby. He has had a few bouts with tummy troubles but nothing big and has been sleeping at night for the most part. Grayson continues to be an awesome big brother - very interested in where Gibson is and what he's doing. He calls him "my baby" and is constantly kissing on him - almost too much some times! Gib is already raising his head up and has moved up to 3 oz feedings today. We went by the pediatricians office for a quick visit today and he is back up to 6lbs 14oz. So I guess all is going as good as it could and we are so thankful for a HEALTHY baby!!!!!

Gibson Wayne
We went to the Dr on Tuesday 9/1 and Dr Parker felt like I wasn't going to make into the next week and wanted to move the induction up. So Gibson was born on Thursday September 02, 2010 at 10:00 am. He weighed 7 lbs and was 19 in long. It was a very easy process and Dr Parker almost missed the birth - when Gib decided he was ready he meant business. I was in labor for about an hour and half - can't complain about that! He was a little earlier than Grayson so a tad smaller but basically he looks exactly like his big brother. He is such a great baby - hardly ever fusses and is just perfect!!!!!

Gibson update
We had another ultrasound last friday and it showed that his growth had caught up!! This is good news(at least I haven't been stuffing my face constantly for no reason!), his belly fat was still on the low end but had gone from 3.4% to 5% which is back in the normal range. She said he has very long legs and all his other measurements were still measuring a couple weeks ahead. I had lost 1 lb but as long as he is growing proportionately they don't care about my weight gain/loss. He did have to be zapped again this week to pass his non-stress test but Casey was there to witness the zapping this time. It did perk him right up though - I think it actually kinda made him mad!!! So we keep going weekly(I start going on Tuesdays next week) until September 10th - which is only 3 weeks away now!!!!!

Recent Happenings
Well we are nearing the end of summer - it has gotten really hot this last week. Grayson and I were on vacation last week but we didn't do much. Spent a couple of days at mom and dad's(which is the same as DisneyLand to Grayson at this point - LOL). We did take Grayson to a little waterpark in Ardmore one afternoon. It was much better than the Whitewater trip. It was like a splash park/kiddie water park/big kid water park. It really was an awesome little place. They have converted one of the old city pools and Grayson had a blast. He is now swimming under water!!!! He was going down the little slide on his stomach and swimming under the rope and jumping off the side - he has definitely gotten more brave the last couple of weeks since we have had a chance to be in the water quite a bit. I am so glad he loves to swim. In other Grayson news - he swallowed a penny!! YIKES! He was sitting in the floor watching cartoons one evening and I think he was just not paying attention to what he was doing and he put it in his mouth and accidentally swallowed it. So yes, we had to "look" for it!!! Double YIKES! Kudos to Casey for that one - I brought out the 'ole "I AM growing a human" excuse for this chore - I really only use it where appropriate and I felt this qualified!!! However, we never found the penny. It has been 2 weeks now and his pediatrician said we could do an x-ray if we wanted to but he didn't really think we NEEDED to, we probably just missed it along the way and since he feels fine and shows no signs of it being a problem we just decided to forgo the x-ray.
Well we are mostly ready for Gibson to be here, which may end being sooner than later. I had an ultrasound to check his growth since I haven't gained much weight and he is a little low on belly fat. This isn't necessarily indicative of any conditions except that it could mean the placenta is not functioning exactly like it should, it is supplying the necessary items but not able to do the extra's like store up fat. So he could have a hard time controlling his body temperature once he is here. The other problem was that he never moved during the u/s so we ended up doing a non-stress test and he had to get zapped twice(they call it the baby zapper, it makes the noise like a taser and that sends vibrations through the amniotic fluid and it startles the baby) but he finally passed. So now I go weekly to the dr and have a non-stress test at each appt and will have another u/s in about a week and half. So pretty much each Friday could be the day if they find that something isn't going just right during all these tests. I am on a super high protein diet to try and help him build up some extra fat which is really hard to do. I haven't felt a hunger pain in 2 weeks since I started this and it's not easy to just keep eating even though you aren't hungry!! So that's about all of our news - now we just wait for Gibson.

Countdown!
Gibson's bed
Yes I am on countdown to September 10th. My doctor has scheduled an induction for that day so only about 6 1/2 weeks left - thank goodness! I am really uncomfortable and I know everyone is tired of hearing about how hot I am!! We really haven't done anything too exciting this summer. Been to the splash park a couple of times and took a trip to White Water(which didn't turn out so well!) and mostly been preparing for Gibson's arrival. We finally got the bed in and a good friend made the bedding for us and it turned out great! The paint was a chore though - primer and 3 coats of paint!! Not fun! But it turned out cute - definitely lime green(although not as lime as in the pic).
My friend Mindy and I took the kids to White Water a few weeks ago and let's just say we won't be doing that again for a while!! Mindy took Grayson and Maveric(her little boy) on one of the rides and while Mav was big enough to ride in a single tube, Mindy and Grayson rode on a double one. Well the first little rapid they went down they were dumped over and the 2 lifeguards standing there(must happen a lot at that spot) scooped Grayson out of the water but it put Mindy in a panic b/c she was reaching for Grayson and he wasn't there!!! Long story short they walked down the rest of the way b/c Grayson was NOT getting back in that tube. I wish you all could hear Grayson tell the story - it is quite hilarious.
The only other exciting event is that I had to take a trip to the ER one evening as we were outside while Casey was mowing and something flew out of the lawn mower and hit me in the head!!! I know - only me! Anyways, no stitches just a lot of blood and some skin glue but still kinda scary. We are going to the lake next weekend and then me and Grayson are on vacation the next week - YIPPEE!!

Summer is here!
Well once again I have neglected this blog - sorry Mom! We have done a few things the past couple months that are blog worthy. We took Grayson to the zoo in April and the new childrens zoo area is really good - he especially enjoyed feeding the Lorikeets and of course walking through the stream. Grayson also got to go to his first baseball game - we went on a Sunday afternoon to a Redhawks game. He really liked it but of course was pretty much over it before the end of the game. But I did happen to catch a game ball in my nachos - not sure if Casey or Grayson was more excited. We took a little trip with Pa Bill to Tulsa to my cousin's house for his little girl's 2nd birthday. It was fun to see them and to see Maddy and Grayson play together since we don't get together too often. Pa Bill had a good time watching them too. We have had our first lake weekend. We went to Texhoma last weekend and Grayson was SO happy to be playing on the beach for 3 straight days. He does love the lake. It didn't take him long to get pretty brave about the swimming either. And since we are officially tube free(in his ears) this summer we don't have that to worry about - we are all pretty excited about that. And of course he rode his tube behind the boat as if he was an old pro! In other big news we are having another boy! YIKES! If he's anything like Grayson I am going to need some more patience!! LOL! We are excited - can't decide on a name. Grayson's name choice was Poppa 5! No thanks - so I ask him "what about Baylor" and he said "what about not Baylor" so I guess that's out!! We are leaning towards Gibson. Wasn't wanting a "G" thing but we like the name and we like it shortened to Gib (Gib Brooksher - sounds baseball-y huh?) and it has some meaning also. My Great Grandpa Huff was Henry Gilbert and people called him Gib and Gibson's meaning is Gilbert's son - so if Mimi can not think of Gibsons discount store(just kidding mom) we will probably go with Gibson. Well that about sums it up - summer is under way! I have another post below that is a must read also. I'll try to update more often and then these won't be so long!!
Redhawks game
He performed this move about 100 times - getting a little deeper each time
Locked Out
So this story could get long - but definitely one that HAD to be documented. For a while Grayson went through a little phase about locking doors - all of them. So we were on the front porch one afternoon(just me and Grayson were home) watching a little rain shower when I heard the front door shut behind me and I instantly knew what had just happened - yes, I was locked out of the house. I thought, no big deal he loves play ring the door bell and somebody come answer the door. So I start ringing the door bell - he is sitting in the living room watching cartoons - paying zero attention to the door bell, the knocking, or me asking him to come open the door. So in the rain I go to the garage - thank goodness we have an external keypad for that, however that door into the house was also locked - deadbolt and all. And of course since we have a 3 year old that can start vehicles my keys were inside. So I knock on the door and politely ask him to open it - I hear him come to the door, mumble something, laugh and then I hear his little feet running back down the hallway - by this point I'm getting a little frustrated. So to the back porch I go - in the rain. Yes, we normally do have a spare key on the back porch for reasons that would take another blog entry it was not present at this time. So now I am knocking on the back door and he does come to the door and I tell him that I need in - he just stares at me and laughs - it is not funny anymore. I tell him if he hurts himself I won't be able to get to him and he needs to let me in - to no avail. By this time I am just down right mad - I had been at this for a good 10 min at this point. As I am looking in the back door/windows wondering what to do - I see him on the kitchen counter getting down the big bottle of bubbles - I can just see myself cleaning up bubble solution out of my carpet and furniture - now I am like - Robin, you've got to get in the house! So I tell him if he wants to go see his Poppa later he had better open the door - not in a nice tone. He totally ignores me and I am thinking crap - I just knew that would work. So on to plan B (actually like plan F!) So I knock and get him to come to the door and I tell him to hurry and come outside because I had found a worm!!! BINGO! The door opens and in I go - yeah, here's the bad part of the story - Grayson got a hefty spanking on his bare bottom and I set him in the chair while I explained to him why. So there he was crying his eyes out and do you know why - because he wanted to see the WORM! So I told him mommy lied there is no worm I just needed him to unlock the door - I can assure you that there being no worm hurt him worse than the spanking!!

Grayson rides his bike
Grayson has been extra busy these days since it getting warm enough to go outside. He has been riding his bicycle at Mimi and Poppa's. It got hooked up to the back of the golf cart one day - not sure if that was Grayson or Poppa's idea?!?! I posted a video of that adventure! But he does pretty good - he likes to ride it in front of Poppa's shop since there is a small hill and he can gather up some speed. He's spent a lot of time on his "big truck" as he calls it. We are ready for some warm weekends though. A few pics from Sesame Street Live - Grayson like it pretty well but he's not a fan of being up close to things dressed up so he was liking it as long as the character's stayed on stage. But we were on about the 3rd row so when they came off the stage they were pretty close and Grayson started backing up! Grayson has declared he is ready to go camping so I see that in our near future. Nothing big coming up but I'm sure we'll be just as busy as always!

Big Brother
Oh my goodness - I have neglected this blog. First of all let me just say that Grayson is so grown up. Besides the occasional fit throwing and the fact that I still make him drink from a sippy cup he is all grown up(or so it seems). He has such imagination and anyone who says that kids aren't watching your every move, doesn't have kids!!! He'll be playing with something and declare that "I am daddy" or "I am Poppa" and he will reinact something that has happened - maybe not even recently - some of it happened last summer!!! One of his favorites right now is to put me or Casey to bed and make us go night-night! He tells us that "you're a big boy, you go night-night by yourself." I suppose he's heard that a time or two. Still loves playing with his tools(although he prefers the real thing). He is very hands on. He has a toy airplane that you take apart with a drill and you have to change out drill bits - he can take it apart and put it together with no problems. I think he is kin to his Poppa. And he knows some stuff that is kinda scary too - he can put the car key in the ignition and start the car - YIKES! He can unlock a lock with a key - YIKES! And he can open all gates - YIKES! He is sooo ready for it to be warm enough to play outside. He is so bored with his toys inside he doesn't even hardly play with them anymore. We are going to Sesame Street Live tomorrow with our friends so I should have some pics to post.
I guess the biggest news that we have to share is that Grayson is going to be a big brother! I am almost 13 weeks along. We decided to wait to share the news in light of our past experience. We have had 2 ultrasounds and so far everything looks great. Due date is September 20th. Grayson asks about it some but we haven't really talked to him about it much. He had a lot of questions after last time and we just thought it best to not get him involved quite so early. So I will hopefully not get so far behind again. I'm sure I could write a ton of more stuff but I'll just do better next time!!!
